Kapenguria woman in court over abusive 200 SMS to another woman

A middle- aged- woman has been arraigned before a Kapenguria court to answer charges of sending abusive text message to another woman.

Pascaline Jemtai Korir abused Agnes Cherotich by sending obscene SMS to the complainant earning the accused charges of publishing obscene information in electronic form contrary to section 84 D of the Kenya communication (Amendment) Act no. 1 of 2009.
The court prosecutor Mark Nabuyumba disclosed that the accused insulted the complainant by sending her more than 200 abusive text massages and went further threatening her even when the matter was still before the court.

The accused was involved in a love triangle pitting her against the complainant for allegedly having a secret affair with her husband, the court heard.

The court further heard that in the midst of their rivalry, the accused sent abusive messages to her competitor through the Short Message Service.

Another count states that the accused promised the plaintiff of making sure that her husband gets another wife even if she was not going to be the one.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the eleven counts she faced before the Senior Principal Magistrate Harrison Barasa who granted a bond of Sh 80, 000 with one surety of a similar amount with an option of a cash bail of Sh 50, 000.

The hearing of the case was set for November 4, this year.
