Buena práctica

Estas son algunas “buenas prácticas” para protegerte cuando usas el correo electrónico:

  • No abras documentos adjuntos de fuentes que no confías
  • No abras documentos adjuntos sin revisar si tienen virus
  • Elige la opción de ver y enviar correo en texto simple. Esto significa que tu cliente de correo electrónico no cargará automáticamente gráficos e imágenes (que pueden venir con malware) y otros archivos ejecutables (que suelen contener virus).
  • Selecciona un programa antivirus que filtre automáticamente tus correos electrónicos y le pone a cada mensaje una nota advirtiéndote que no tiene virus.

Utiliza un cliente seguro de correo electrónico

  • Deja de usar Microsoft Outlook y Outlook Express! Está demostrado que son los clientes de correo electrónico más vulnerables a los virus y otros programas maliciosos (malware, son programas que se autoinstalan en tu computador sin tu permiso y con la intención de causar daños.
  • En cambio, recomendamos el uso de Mozilla Thunderbird. Lo puedes descargar y encontrar más información aquí

Encripta tus correos electrónicos (PGP):

  • PGP  (Pretty Good Privacy) es un programa de encriptamiento de calidad militar que se usa para codificar (encriptar) y decodificar (desencriptar) datos de modo que sólo puedan leerlos los y las destinatarios /as.
  • Puedes encriptar correo electrónico que le envías a otros y desencriptar correos que recibes tú. Puedes encriptar y desencriptar archivos de tu computador que no quieras que otros/as lean. PGP es la mejor manera de proteger datos disponibles a todo público.
  • Thunderbird también tiene un enchufe llamado Enigmail que te permite encriptar tus correos de manera muy fácil. Enigmail utiliza PGP para encriptar y desencriptar correos.
