Privacy

We take privacy seriously. We will not add you to any lists or send you spam. As a basic rule, we will never use your email address for any purpose other than to verify your account or in rare circumstances (e.g. to request for an interview), about content you have uploaded on the website.

We do count the number of users we have on the site, just to have sense of how many participants we have on the campaign, but this will be in no way directly connected to your username or email address.

Please note however, that all content - with the exception of digital stories where express permission from the creator will be requested only for the purposes of sharing - uploaded and shared on the campaign website will be copylefted - i.e. free for other users and campaigners to use, share, adapt and modify for personal use, for training and educational publications, and activities by peace, environmental, human rights or development organisations. Please provide an acknowledgement to APC WNSP.

If you would like your content to not be copylefted, please send us an email ideas@takebackthetech.net and we will be more than happy to publish a note on it, which states the conditions in which you would wish your content be used and/or shared or not.

We ask that you also treat other campaigners' with equal respect to their privacy, and use comment box or the mailing list to exchange and communicate. If you for any reason would prefer to have personal communication with any of other campaigner or user, do make your initial request on the mailing list.

Take Back The Tech mailing list.

Happy campaigning, and thanks for reading! :)
