WHAT ARE DAILY ACTIONS?
From 25 Nov to 10 Dec, Take Back The Tech! invites you to take one action per day to end violence against women. Each daily action explores an issue of violence against women and its interconnection with communication rights, and approach different communication platforms - online and off - in creative and tactical ways.Take Back The Tech! End violence against women.
25 November is also the International Day Against Violence Against Women. Let's join the UNIFEM call to "SAY NO to violence against women".
The challenge? To send one million names to Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary General of the United Nations, to demonstrate that people around the world believe that ending violence against women is a priority.
Violence against women is so pervasive that it took many years of activism and advocacy to make it seen as an outrageous violation of fundamental human rights. It was only in 1993 that the United Nations General Assembly recognised this through the Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
It affects everyone, in all sections of society – whether you are a woman, man, heterosexual, queer, differently abled, majority or minority. Today, take a firm stand. Expose the absurdity of living in a world that targets women and girls in acts of violence and discrimination. Add your voice to the global call and say no to violence against women!

- Send this daily action call to your friends!

- Grab the widget from the UNIFEM Say NO to VAW widget site.
- Click on “Grab & Share”
- Click on the “all” tab
- Select which icon and online platform that you would like to embed the widget depending on the online spaces that you occupy
- Or select "click here to grab code" and paste it on your homepage or organisation's website
